Ever have a Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day?

I mean a day that just starts out rough and then gets worse?  A day when your hairs a mess and your clothes are not ironed (which in my mom’s eyes is pretty much the cardinal sin).

Well it is summer, and one can hardly have a bad day in the summer–well teachers anyway.  But hard days are sure to come.

I hate when I have bad days people will say “well the bible says count it all joy when you have trials”…so I am going to stay FAR away from that little scripture!

I have a message bible that I read when I am NEEDING a word from God after a hard day. These are some of my favorite scriptures from Psalm 16. Verse 8 is really my favorite. The message says it this way “Day and Night I’ll stick with God. I’ve got a good thing going, and I am not letting GO!” NIV says it like this “I have set the LORD always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.

Ok here are the verses:

1-2 Keep me safe, O God, I’ve run for dear life to you.

I say to God, “Be my Lord!”

Without you, nothing makes sense.

5-6 My choice is you, God, first and only.

And now I find I’m your choice!

You set me up with a house and yard.

And then you made me your heir!

7-8 The wise counsel God gives when I’m awake

is confirmed by my sleeping heart.

Day and night I’ll stick with God;

I’ve got a good thing going and I’m not letting go.

9-10 I’m happy from the inside out,

and from the outside in, I’m firmly formed.

You canceled my ticket to hell—

that’s not my destination!

11 Now you’ve got my feet on the life path,

all radiant from the shining of your face.

Ever since you took my hand,
